Gladie Visitor Center - Sales Associate

Gladie Visitor Center is located in the Red River Gorge, a top destination for hikers, climbers,
paddlers, and sportsmen alike. The Red River Gorge also boasts a rich cultural history of Native
American Rock Shelters, bluegrass, 19ᵗʰ century oil/coal extraction, moonshining, and hemp farming.
The Visitor Center includes a large interpretive area, a gift shop, and the childhood home of Lily
May Ledford (1917-1985), a renowned female banjo and fiddle player. The Gladie Visitor Center
serves as the information center to orient all visitors to the recreational and historical
offerings of the Red River Gorge.
FIND Outdoors has an exciting opportunity for a Sales Associate at the Gladie Visitor Center in the
Red River Gorge on the Daniel Boone National Forest. FIND offers our visitors forest-related gifts,
educational resources and provides partnership opportunities for the health of our forests and
safety of our forest users on public and private lands.
RESPONSIBLITIES:
1. Responsible for opening and closing the retail space at the visitor Center.
2. Responsible for processing sales transactions.
3. Responsible for stocking and display of product.
4. Responsible for the cleanliness and overall appearance of the shop.
5. Responsible for accurate handling and processing of sales transactions.
6. Responsible for monitoring inventory levels and reporting needs to manager.
7. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
8. Other duties as assigned
SKILLS:
1. Ability to use company-specific computer software.
2. Ability to meet the public and communicate effectively.
3. Provide information regarding services and/or programs when appropriate staff person is
unavailable.
4. Ability to work independently with minimal direction or supervision.
