About FIND Outdoors:
FIND is a 50+-year-old nonprofit headquartered in Pisgah Forest, NC whose mission is to provide all people with education, recreational and interpretive opportunities about natural resources and cultural history. FIND Outdoors serves over 800,000 visitors each year with over 150 educational and recreational programs, special events, and tours, and manages 15 recreation, education, and camping facilities in North Carolina, Kentucky and Georgia. In addition, FIND offers our visitors forest- related gifts, education resources, and provides partnership opportunities for the health of our forests and the safety of our forest users on public and private lands.

About the Opportunity:

Grants & Sponsorship Coordinator
FIND has an exciting opportunity for a part-time Grants & Sponsorship Coordinator. This individual will build relationships with community sponsors that support educational events in North Carolina, Georgia and Kentucky. He or she will also research and submit grants that support outdoor education and public lands improvement. This role is managed by the CEO.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  1. Build sponsorship structures that invite corporate involvement in special events, offering compelling benefits that correspond to varying levels of investment.
  2. Help coordinate the design of sponsorship packages and associated correspondence.
  3. Build and maintain relationships with businesses in FIND communities.
  4. Directly ask for sponsorship support and coordinate all sponsor relations before, during and after events, ensuring that sponsorship benefits are delivered at a level that encourages long-term relationships.
  5. Work with leadership team to identify grant opportunities that philanthropically support outdoor education and public lands improvement. Create a grants calendar of identified opportunities and deadlines.
  6. Help draft compelling narratives that support grant acquisition, including budgets, budget narratives, outcomes, and logic models.
  7. Manage foundation relationships and help coordinate post-award support including publicity.
  8. Work with FIND team to support grant implementation and reporting.


Required Skills/Abilities: 
  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  2. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  3. Respect for confidentiality and ability to handle sensitive information discreetly, maintaining trust and privacy.
  4. Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with a diverse team.
  6. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:
  1. Previous experience in a related role.
  2. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Physical Requirements: 
  1. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
