About the Opportunity: Inventory Control Specialist The role of the Inventory Control Specialist will involve overseeing the ordering, storing, receiving, and distributing of all retail products and supplies. The position will be responsible for managing the flow of retail merchandise across all FIND-managed gift shops, while also tracking and analyzing inventory and developing protocols for minimizing loss. The role will require a high standard of customer service and will also involve managing employee and community relations. The Inventory Control Specialist will serve as an ambassador to FIND. Reports To: Retail Operations Manager RESPONSIBILITIES:
Handles replenishment of orders to ensure appropriate product mix and quantities. Creates orders to procure new stock items.
Communicate regularly with store managers and Retail Operations Manager regarding inventory needs.
Creates purchase orders for online entry or call in, in a timely fashion.
Utilize Lightspeed software to forecast monthly, quarterly and seasonal inventory needs.
Monitor sales trends and forecast inventory needs.
Oversee and manage the inventory storage space in the warehouse to ensure proper usage of space.
Delivers inventory to and ensure sales floor at Pisgah VC and Cradle of Forestry are properly stocked and merchandised effectively.
Assists with administrative retail tasks such as entering invoices, stickering, folding and transferring inventory.
Perform year-end inventory at all sites.
Be able to operate and run any retail site when needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for all merchandise procurement, including the approval process with partners, purchasing from vendors and distribution to all visitor centers.
Offers suggestions to the Retail Operations Manager to improve gift shop operations.
Maintains constant communication with Retail Operations Manager regarding issues concerning sales results, purchasing and inventory levels, and anything else that affects the organization’s financial stability.
Maintains a clean, safe, and professional environment in all occupied retail spaces, including offices and warehouse space.
Ensures that safety is the number one priority for all retail team members by creating an atmosphere of open dialogue, as well as the empowerment to bring to attention anything team members deem as a safety concern.
Performs year end inventories at the warehouse and gift shops and is responsible for their accuracy.
Ability to lift upto 40 lbs. on a regular basis.

Inventory Control Specialist Scope of Work & Expectations
In regard to work schedule, the Inventory Control Specialist will:
Work between the hours of 8:30 am. to 5:00 pm for 32 hours a week; any deviation from this schedule must be preapproved by the Retail Operations Manager.
Submit a request to the Retail Operations Manager one month in advance for any time off requested exceeding one week
Inform HQ Team and the Field Team when taking time off and provide out of office email
Weekend work and travel (required as needed)
In regard to Retail Operations, the Inventory Control Specialist will:
Ensure all FIND managed gift shops are fully stocked and merchandised
Utilize Point of Sale software to properly forecast and place orders to maintain appropriate stock levels throughout the year.
Communicate with gift shop managers on a regular basis to determine inventory needs.
Conduct site visits throughout the season to assist gift shop managers with merchandising and product additions or deletions.
