About the Opportunity:
 
Facilities & Maintenance Specialist
Pisgah Forest, NC
Seasonal through November 2025

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Facilities and Maintenance Specialist to help maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and functionality of our North Carolina campgrounds. This part-time position plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for our visitors. The ideal candidate will have general handyman experience and take pride in keeping our campgrounds running smoothly. This position will regularly travel between our Headquarters office in Pisgah Forest to and from our North Carolina campgrounds- Van Hook Glade and Carolina Hemlocks Recreation Areas.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:

 
  • Complete routine landscaping tasks including mowing, trimming, watering, and leaf removal.
  • Conduct minor repairs and general maintenance (e.g., painting, fixing broken fixtures, maintaining signage).
  • Inspect facilities and grounds regularly and report issues requiring additional repairs or attention.
  • Perform regular inspection, cleaning, and restocking of restrooms, showers, and common areas.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of campground events or seasonal installations.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with campground staff to ensure all facilities meet a high standard of repair and cleanliness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 
SKILLS & ABILITIES:

 
  • Prior experience in facility maintenance, landscaping, or custodial work preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
