About the Opportunity:
Full-Time Event Coordinator

As the Event Coordinator with FIND Outdoors, you will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and growing events across multiple public land sites. This position will support a wide range of events, including large-scale ticketed experiences, educational events, and other special programs. The Event Coordinator will help keep teams, timelines, logistics, partners, and event details moving forward while supporting site staff in delivering successful visitor experiences. This role requires strong organization, communication, creativity, and a genuine excitement for making events happen. This role reports to the Chief Education Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinate the planning and execution of major events and special programs across FIND Outdoors sites.
  • Serve as a central point of coordination for events involving multiple staff, departments, sites, vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and partners; managing logistics including equipment, supplies, registration, ticketing, signage, and site needs.
  • Maintain event calendars, timelines, checklists, and planning documents to keep events organized and on schedule.
  • Work closely with site teams to ensure events are planned appropriately for each location and audience.
  • Support the development of new events and identify opportunities to grow and improve existing programs.
  • Work with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Education Officer and Engagement Director to develop and implement new event ideas and experiences.
  • Coordinate with Marketing and Communications to ensure event information, promotional materials, and sponsor recognition are completed and delivered on schedule.
  • Coordinate with the Engagement Director on fundraising events, sponsorships, and related event commitments. Track grant and sponsorship event deliverables and assist with collecting information, attendance data, and other materials needed for reporting.
  • Collect and maintain event attendance, feedback, and other program data to support evaluation and future planning. Lead post-event follow-up and help identify opportunities to improve future events.
  • Develop and maintain event planning templates, checklists, procedures, and other tools that support consistency across sites.
  • Travel regularly to FIND Outdoors sites and provide hands-on support during events as needed.
  • Perform additional related tasks as assigned to support FIND Outdoors' education, events, and organizational goals.

  • Ability to coordinate effectively with staff, vendors, sponsors, volunteers, partners, and the public.

  • Creativity and enthusiasm for developing engaging events and visitor experiences.
  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt quickly when event plans or circumstances change.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for program growth and take initiative in moving ideas forward.
  • Professional and friendly interaction with the public, ensuring a positive image for FIND Outdoors.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and varying hours, especially during major events and special programs.
  • Physical ability to work outdoors, stand and walk for extended periods, and lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly between FIND Outdoors sites.
  • Experience with event planning, program coordination, nonprofit work, education, recreation, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
  • Preferred: College degree in event management, communications, education, recreation, nonprofit management, or a related field.
