About FIND Outdoors:
FIND is a 50+-year-old nonprofit headquartered in Pisgah Forest, NC whose mission is to provide all people with education, recreational and interpretive opportunities about natural resources and cultural history. FIND Outdoors serves over 800,000 visitors each year with over 150 educational and recreational programs, special events, and tours, and manages 15 recreation, education, and camping facilities in North Carolina, Kentucky and Georgia. In addition, FIND offers our visitors forest-related gifts, education resources, programs and activities, along with providing partnership opportunities for the health of our forests and the safety of our forest users on public and private lands.

One of the main education programs supported by FIND Outdoors is the Natural Inquirer science education program. This program is jointly administered by the USDA Forest Service and FIND Outdoors. The Natural Inquirer program is a national program that distributes free, science education materials for K-12 based on Forest Service science and research.

About the Opportunity
Natural Inquirer Distribution Assistant
This role will focus on providing distribution assistance for the Natural Inquirer program. This position will be held to a high standard for providing distribution support such as packing, sorting, metering, and labeling packages to go out. Additionally, this position will help track distribution numbers and events for the Natural Inquirer program. This position reports to the Natural Inquirer Distribution Manager.

RESPONSIBLITIES:
  1. Assemble and distribute Natural Inquirer card packs.
  2. Assemble a variety of sample packs of Natural Inquirer materials.
  3. Stamp, stuff, and meter envelopes.
  4. Help keep track of distribution numbers for reporting.
  5. Consistent and quality communication with the Natural Inquirer Distribution Manager regarding all issues.
  6. Other related duties as assigned including, but not limited to, assisting with storage and unpacking of new materials and tallying orders for specific user groups.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
  1. Can work successfully as part of a team as well as assume and execute responsibilities independently.
  2. Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as dynamic critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  3. Ability to stay organized and assist with implementation of several projects within a specific time frame.
  4. Ability to walk up to four miles a day, lift thirty pounds, and stand for extended periods of time when getting packages ready.
  5. Interact in a professional manner with the public and convey a positive image for FIND Outdoors and the Natural Inquirer program.
