About the Opportunity:

Project Manager (Full-time)

Based from FIND HQ in Pisgah Forest, NC or Remote in N. Georgia

As a Project Manager with FIND Outdoors, you will support the operations and executive team in management of campgrounds, visitor centers, day use areas, and other public lands. This is a newly created role for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and time management skills. We are seeking a dynamic and goal-oriented individual who thrives on the opportunity to work on new projects throughout the year. This position will report to the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help manage building and infrastructure projects at FIND-managed sites in partnership with public land managers such as the United States Forest Service;
  • Assist in documentation and communication surrounding permits, operating plans, and associated budgets that define FIND’s relationship with public land managers;
  • Assist in annual staff training and ongoing field training for new and rotating staff members;
  • Conduct research and evaluate/recommend opportunities to solve a variety of business challenges;
  • Represent FIND in relationships with contractors, vendors, partners and other constituencies when the administration team is unavailable;
  • Help benchmark and report key performance indicators/metrics associated with FIND’s strategic plan;
  • Work in collaboration across departments to help FIND achieve strategic goals;
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to use software programs (Slack, Google Suite, etc) to organize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Knowledge, experience or demonstrated interest in outdoor recreation and public lands management;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent organizational abilities with a proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting established deadlines.
  • Physical ability to walk up to four miles daily and lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Professional and friendly interaction with the public, ensuring a positive image for FIND Outdoors.
  • Up to 30% travel throughout North Carolina and Georgia may be required.
