Job Description

We are seeking Event Staff to support our seasonal Blue Ghost Firefly Experience. This unique outdoor event centers around the rare Blue Ghost Firefly (Phausis reticulata), offering guests an educational and immersive nighttime hike through protected woodland trails.

Event Staff play a key role in ensuring a safe, organized, and memorable experience for all attendees. Staff will be trained on event procedures, safety protocols, and how to communicate key information about the Blue Ghost Firefly experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist at stations along paved forest trails to guide guests and ensure they remain on designated paths
  • Provide clear directions, answer questions, and share basic information about the fireflies and event flow
  • Monitor guest safety in low-light conditions and respond to concerns as needed
  • Encourage responsible behavior to protect sensitive habitats
  • Assist with check-in and guest registration
  • Operate a point-of-sale (POS) system (retail positions only)
  • Assist with clearing trails at the end of the event
  • Support breakdown of event stations and materials
Qualifications of a successful candidate:
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Comfortable working outdoors at night in a wooded environment
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to follow safety guidelines
  • Interest in nature, conservation, or environmental education is a plus
Dates of the event fall on select nights from May 9th-June 8th. Event Staff shifts are from 7pm-11pm.

Compensation: $15/hour
