About the Opportunity:

Anna Ruby Falls- Helen, GA

Job Type: Seasonal, Part-Time (Evening Hours)

Step into the magic of the night and lead visitors on an unforgettable journey to witness the glowing wonder of Foxfire! We are looking for enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guides to lead guests on a guided night hike to Anna Ruby Falls, sharing insights about the bioluminescent phenomenon and the surrounding forest ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead groups on a guided hike up the .4-mile paved trail to Anna Ruby Falls and back.
  • Share engaging stories and educational information about Foxfire, nocturnal wildlife, and the unique ecosystem of the area.
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of all guests by setting a manageable pace and assisting those who need support on steeper portions of the trail.
  • Monitor group behavior to ensure guests stay on designated trails and follow safety guidelines.
  • Answer questions and encourage curiosity about the environment.
  • Assist with check-in, group organization, and event wrap-up.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for nature, outdoor education, and sharing knowledge with the public.
  • Strong public speaking and storytelling skills.
  • Comfortable hiking at night and leading groups in low-light conditions.
  • Ability to engage guests of all ages in a friendly and enthusiastic manner.
  • Physically able to walk up to one mile on a paved but sometimes steep trail.
  • Reliable and able to work evening shifts (typically 8:00 pm – 10:45 pm).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a tour guide, naturalist, or educator in an outdoor setting.
  • Knowledge of Appalachian ecology, bioluminescence, or local wildlife is a plus.
