About the Opportunity:
Georgia Education Manager
FIND has an exciting opportunity for a Georgia Education Manager with a 51-year-old nonprofit in Pisgah Forest, NC, with a mission to provide all people with educational, recreational, and interpretive opportunities about natural resources and cultural history. FIND Outdoors serves approximately one million visitors annually with over 150 educational and recreational programs, special events, tours, and manages recreation, education, and camping facilities in North Carolina, Georgia, and Kentucky. FIND Outdoors offers environmental education programs, forest-related gifts, educational books, and other resources. FIND provides partnership opportunities for the health, safety, and education of all forest users on local and regional public and private lands. The Georgia Education Manager works collaboratively with local, regional, and statewide conservation organizations, friend groups, diverse partners, USFS, and other federal agency staff to enhance support for the mission of education at FIND Outdoors. This role will focus on providing exceptional experiences by developing educational programs at assigned sites and publications for FIND Outdoors. You must have the requisite skills to function in this position. This position will be held to a high standard for providing customer service, and nurturing community relations. The Georgia Education Manager will be an ambassador of FIND.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work collaboratively with FIND Education Director to create educational programming unique to each site under the purview of the Georgia Education Manager.
Hire, train, and supervise seasonal interns, as applicable.
Utilize and distribute Natural Inquirer educational materials at all sites.
Connect with local schools proximal to each visitor center in Georgia to establish field trips and in school outreach programs.
Coordinate with FIND Chief Mission Officer (CMO) and Operations Manager to update informational/interpretive signage at assigned sites, as needed.
Coordinate using third-party vendors, educators, and presenters to provide programming at Visitor Centers and Campgrounds in Georgia.
Deliver or assist with programming and special event days at assigned sites.
Work collaboratively with FIND CMO to effectively promote events, showcase educational offerings and programs at Georgia sites via the FIND website and various social media platforms.
Record, maintain and share with FIND Leadership Team demographical data of visitors and educational program participants at Georgia sites.
Make budgetary recommendations for the annual budgets for the educational platforms regarding Georgia sites.
Provide reports to the Education Director, CMO, and/or CEO as needed.
Other related duties as assigned by the Education Director and/or CMO.
QUALIFICATIONS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:
Proven ability to build effective, results-driven organizational advocates and community coalitions
Experience with educational programming, organizing practices and principles, and a proven track record of success connecting with, organizing, and mobilizing different communities
Experience developing program strategies and managing educational offerings
Technology-savvy with experience using a wide range of traditional and cutting-edge social, digital and multimedia tools to share information and reach target audiences
Ability to travel and work extended hours as needed. Driving, travel, temporary assignments and extended work hours are required
Commitment to advancing equity, inclusion, and diversity within the organization and in the environmental movement
Ability to prioritize, adjust focus and wear many hats in a fast-paced environment

Georgia Education Manager
Scope of Work & Expectations
Regarding work schedule, the GA Education Manager will:
Work the hours of 8:30 am to 5:00 pm for 40 hours a week
Report to Anna Ruby Falls office at least three days per week; work at other Georgia sites and remotely as needed
Conduct programming on a rotating schedule at all of the Georgia sites. Inform the Education Director of location through a remote work request
Inform the Education Director of any deviation from the above work schedule
Submit a request to the Education Director one month in advance for any time off requested exceeding one week
Inform FIND HQ Team, Georgia Visitor Centers and Campground Managers when taking time off and provide out-of-office email notification
Weekend work and travel required as needed
Regarding Communications, the GA Education Manager will:
Regularly communicate with Education Director regarding educational offerings at each site
Connect with CMO on a monthly basis and participate in regular updates regarding educational programming
Communicate regularly with FIND team members at HQ to keep informed about upcoming events and other needed information
Work in a team-oriented atmosphere
Share photos with CMO for social media posts or program promotions
Regarding Education, the GA Education Manager will:
Coordinate with the Education Director and/or other Education Manager(s), seasonal team members, and interns as needed to prepare/plan programs and events at assigned locations
In coordination with the Education Director, prepare a schedule of seasonal programs and event schedule at Georgia locations in a timely manner for advance promotion on web and social media
Hourly rate: $19.75 to $20.75
